Non-Visa-Required Students

Some non-EU nationalities do not need an Irish entry visa. That does not mean there is no immigration process for a long study stay.

Entry visa vs permission to stay

If you are visa-exempt, you may travel without first obtaining an Irish entry visa. For a stay of more than 90 days, you still need to meet the relevant student conditions and register the immigration permission granted to you after arrival.

Financial evidence still matters

Non-visa-required students must be able to show they can support themselves. Immigration Service Delivery currently requires direct access to the applicable financial amount at arrival/registration.

Bring the correct school documents

For the standard ISI Academic Year pre-arrival journey, your passport and Letter of Acceptance are the core school-side documents to carry. Immigration authorities may require additional evidence depending on your circumstances.
