Host Family can be a comfortable way to begin a long stay: you arrive with a room organised, experience everyday life in Dublin and have time to learn the city before making longer-term decisions.

What to expect

ISI host families are visited by the accommodation team in advance and Garda vetted. Room and meal-plan options depend on the booking selected, and exact placement details are confirmed through the normal accommodation process.

Why it works well for the first weeks

• You arrive with accommodation already organised.
• You can learn transport routes and neighbourhoods before searching privately.
• You have a local household environment while settling into school.
• You can decide later whether Host Family, residence or private rent best suits the rest of your stay.

Academic Year recommendation

For long-stay students, we normally recommend organising the first 8 weeks with ISI. Longer stays can sometimes be arranged, subject to the exact booking and placement.
