Private rent can be a good long-term option, but it is worth searching carefully rather than rushing into the first room you see.

For standard private tenancies, the Residential Tenancies Board says a security deposit cannot be more than one month’s rent. Always check the current rules for the type of accommodation you are considering.

Choose the area around your real routine

Do not judge a room only by the Dublin postcode. Look at the commute to school, public transport, grocery options, your likely work schedule and how often you expect to travel across the city.
